Concrete Slab Settlement in Island Park, NY
Challenge
The homeowner of a single family home contacted Foundation Supportworks of New Jersey when she noticed sunken slabs in her Island Park, N.Y. home. The concrete slab of the 1,358 square foot home experienced 2-3 inches of settling due to Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The home was built in the 1950's and the sunken and settling slabs began to alarm the homeowner for the value and safety of her home.
Solution
Foundation Supportworks of New Jersey remedied the homeowner’s problem with the use of the PolyLEVEL (TM) Polyurethane Injection System. To begin the repair, Head PolyLEVEL Technician, Joe Nero, drilled penny sized holes into the settling and sunken parts of the concrete slab. He then used specialized equipment to inject the polyurethane under the concrete and raise it back to its original position.
With the use of the PolyLEVEL (TM) system, exclusively available to Foundation Supportworks dealers, was able to lift and stabilize the settling concrete slab(s). The PolyLEVEL system was installed in less than one hour, with absolutely no mess left behind. The joints were then sealed and the family was able to park their vehicles in the garage immediately after the installation took place. This fast and easy installation process gave the homeowner peace of mind and confidence toward the value of her home.
